About the Author

S.P. Kalantri is a physician and teacher at the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (MGIMS), Sevagram, where he has served since 1982. An alumnus of the GMC Nagpur 1973 batch, he earned his MD in Medicine before obtaining an MPH from the University of California, Berkeley in 2004.

Through Matter of Fact, he examines the intersections of clinical medicine, ethics, and the human condition. His essays draw upon four decades of practice in Sevagram to document institutional heritage and the lived realities of healthcare.
