On Sunday, I hit a double century againโ€” completing a 200 km cycle ride from Nagpur to a little beyond Pandhurna (MP) in 10 hours.

This success, coming as it did after my first 200 km ride (Nagpur to Talegaon) in September is all the more pleasing because I was able to endure fiery crosswindsโ€”strong enough to sap the energy and test the mettle of a cyclist. Yes, the national highway I rode on was buttery smooth, the past experience was behind me, and there were wonderful people to ride with (Abhishek Raut and Abhijit Khanke, among others), but the weather almost took the winds out of my sails. When I came back home I realised that cycling with like-minded friends, I was able to challenge myself to ride better than I imagined. A hugely satisfying feeling!

Now that I have two double centuries under my belt, I am wondering if I should give a try to the 300 km ride next month!
