Amar Jesani devoted his life to medical ethics in India. In 2003, he invited Dr. S.P. Kalantri to join the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics as associate editor under Dr. Samiran Nanda of AIIMS Delhi — and taught him that medicine without ethics is medicine without a conscience.
