TF. He would have turned sixty today- and the Class of 1973 would have celebrated the milestone that he was eagerly looking forward to. Alas, he boarded a flight a fortnight before we would have wished him a happy birthday. And he left behind his family, friends, loved ones, and patients who would eternally recall his warmth, his genuine love, his wonderful camaraderie, and his innate ability to reach the un-reached. His laughter still echoes in my ears; his vibrant liveliness continues to resurface in my memory. And how will I ever forget his his efforts to retrieve friends who we thought were absolutely untraceable. His 9 PM telephone calls would showcase a child like joy for hunting the old friend, and his joy of describing the old associations, old memories and old happenings is absolutely indescribable.

As I woke up today, I found myself drenched wet in a flood of memories.

I miss you, Badodekar. Happy Birthday, nevertheless, wherever you are. Rest assured, you haven’t left us- you have carved a permanent niche in our hearts.
