Today, Sevagram Cyclones—a bunch of bicycle aficionados—motivated each other to set mobile alarms at 4:45 am to get up early on a Sunday morning. The plan was to take a two-way 60 km bike ride—from Sevagram to Bor Dam.

So, Sumedh Manikpure (a medical student), Hardik More (an intern), Nikita Bhugra (a resident), Ashwini Kalantri (a faculty) and I started from Sevagram square and gently paced our cycles for close to three hours. We passed by early morning squatters, manoeuvred our cycles through a herd of buffalos blocking the path, negotiated our way through cars, buses and trucks whining past on the state highway, and headed towards Bor.

We spent some time on the dam built on Bor river, 30 km from Sevagram. We stopped off along the way to take photos, and explored the dam- which almost everyone living in Sevagram must have either visited, spent time in or passed through. The weather was cloudy, the winds blew kindly and the sun shone gently. We had a great time as we indulged ourselves in leisure riding.
