Srinivas Gokulnath has done it!ย  Just a few minutes back, in Annapolis, Maryland, on the east coast of the US, Srinivasโ€™s front wheel of the bicycle went past the finish line, thus making him the first Indian in history to finish the Race Across America. He took 11 days, 18 hours and 45 minutes to achieve what everybody thought was an impossible target.

Congratulations, Col. Srinivas!  Hats off to your indomitable spirit. The toll that this race took on your body and mind cannot be described in words. But you did not indulge in self-pity. Instead, you endured suffering and misery. Today you passed the toughest test of endurance in the world. Your first few days in the race created a lot of flutter in our heart, but as the miles rolled by, you did not let the past get the better of you. Your legs were churning the pedals like massive pistons, fast and furious. You conquered the three major mountain ranges, went across five major rivers and two deserts that lay between the coasts.

Congratulations, once again for finding the bliss you sought!
