Cardiac stents became cheaperโand relatively affordableโ this year. Beginning this evening, knee implants in India are all set to get about three to five fold cheaper. Surely, this news should be music to the ears of those who were forced to spend their life, knee-deep in pain and misery. And this was not a knee-jerk reaction of the Government but a well-reasoned decision based on objective data. The device industry tried its best to make the government drop to its knees. Am glad that the government did not go weak in the knees.
Would the government set its eyes on the intraocular lenses, next? I shall be all eyes, as I wait for the news.
