Today Reddy would have turned 61.

More than a professional colleague or a next-door neighbour, he was a friend I could always count on. Beginning 1982, when I first met him, we developed a deep bond that kept on growing with the passage of time. Whenever we metโ€”and we did so almost dailyโ€”we would open our hearts and share our true feelings: the things that had upset us; the happenings in the family that cheered us up; the failures and frustrations that the administration brought on our tables and even helplessness we were struggling to cope with.  We celebrated our happy moments and supported each other during the depths of despair.

I miss him today.
