A Portrait of a Medical Generation

The Batch

The Batch — GMC Nagpur · Class of 1973

Government Medical College, Nagpur

Our Class: 1973

In July 1973, 200 students entered Government Medical College, Nagpur. Half came from city science colleges; the other half arrived from small towns across Vidarbha’s eight districts. They moved from Marathi- and Hindi-medium schools into anatomy halls and ward rounds — mastering Gray’s and Samson Wright in a foreign tongue. Fifty years on, they are global. This page is their ledger.
